The Tasting Room

Exploring this city is one of my favorite things to do. This place is right at the end of the Raghuvanshi Mill Compound which is close to Phoenix- The Shopping Mall at Lower Parel. The winding stairs will take you to the upper floor of the Good Earth (name of the building) where you will find this tranquil Spanish restaurant. The venue also has an art supply store which has magnificent home décor.

The ambience is simply amazing and it houses some very impressive books on art, culture and modern gastronomy. Some of the books on which I could lay my hands on were Jannat – Paradise in Islamic Art, Threads and Voices behind the Indian textile tradition, Cities of Kerala, Dargahs – Abodes of the Saints and Ladakh – Culture at the Crossroads.

I am not a coffee fanatic but recently I have acquired a taste for coffee and The Tasting Room did not disappoint my taste buds.

It also offers variety of teas such as Nilgiri BOP from Coonoor, Black Jasmine from Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Green tea, etc. Some people call this place as “heaven for wine drinkers”.

The ‘watermelon and feta salad with pine nuts’ is delectable and it really impressed me. Sea food lovers can try the ‘Grilled Tiger Prawn Chilli Capellini’ prepared with extra virgin olive oil and garlic.

No meal is complete without desserts and the one which I devoured was ‘Bailey’s mousse’ – absolutely outstanding!

The art and ambience of this little place will definitely allow you to wallow in nostalgia!
